This enhancement allows users to seamlessly import multiple challan details directly from the Income Tax website with just a single click. To leverage this functionality, follow the comprehensive process outlined below:

Step 1: Open the TDS Software and navigate to the "Challans" section. Select any of the available Forms (24Q, 26Q, 27Q, or 27EQ) from the menu bar.

      

Step 2: Click on the "Import Challan From Govt. Portal" button.

      

Step 3: Allow a brief moment for the system to fetch data from the ITD Portal. It's important to note that the imported challan details should not exceed a period of 24 months.
Step 4: If all pertinent details such as Major Head Code, Section of Payment, and Form Type are displayed, the respective challans can be directly imported. Simply select the desired Challan and click on the "Import Challan" button. This process does not necessitate verification.

      
      
      

Step 5: In the event that Major Head Code, Section of Payment, and Form Type are not automatically populated, it is imperative to manually enter or select these details. Subsequently, click on the "Import Challan" button.

      
      
      

Step 6: Verify the TDS Challan details for the specified Form Type.
Step 7: To review and manage the imported challans, navigate to the "Challans" section and select the applicable Form - 24Q, 26Q, 27Q, or 27EQ.

      

This refined process ensures a seamless and efficient approach to importing challan details into the TDS software, enhancing user convenience and accuracy in compliance with Income Tax regulations.

If you encounter any issues while importing Challan Details from the Government Portal or if the challan details are not fetching correctly, please take the following steps to resolve them:
  1. Verify System TimeZone: Ensure that your system's TimeZone is set to (UTC + 05:30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi. This setting aligns your system's time with the standard time used by the Income Tax Department's portal, facilitating accurate data retrieval.
  1. Confirm Region Settings: Check and confirm that the Region settings on your system are configured to English (United States). This setting can impact the display and interpretation of data, ensuring compatibility with the Income Tax Department's platform.
  1. Ensure Date Format: Make sure that the Date Format on your system is set to dd/MM/yyyy. Correct date formatting is crucial for interpreting and processing the challan details correctly during the import process.
By making these adjustments, you should be able to resolve any potential issues and import challan details seamlessly into the TDS software from the Income Tax website.
