What
is Form 10BB ?
Form 10BB is a statement required to be furnished by
charitable or religious trusts, educational institutions, or hospitals to claim
exemption under Sections 10(23C)(iv), (v), (vi), or (via)
of the Income Tax Act, 1961. It is filed by entities whose income exceeds the
specified exemption limit, and it must be certified by a qualified Chartered
Accountant.
How
to file Form 10BB using Income Tax Auditor ?
Step 1: Begin by selecting the "Trust Return Party":
Navigate to "Transactions" → "Auditor Information" → "Other Audit Report Details".
- Select Act and Section: Choose the Act Name and relevant Section from the provided dropdown menus.
- Audit Status: Indicate whether the entity has been audited (select "Yes" or "No").
- Dates: Enter the Date of the Audit Report and specify the Date of Furnishing the Audit Report.
- Firm and Auditor: Select the Firm/Proprietorship Name and the Auditor's Name from the dropdown lists.
- Auto-fill PAN/Membership: The Firm PAN No. and Membership No. will be auto-filled based on stored information.
Step 2: Filing Form 10BB
- From the Forms option, choose Form 10BB from the list of available forms. The format in the software aligns with Income Tax requirements, including all annexures and schedules mandated in the form.
- On the Dashboard, select the necessary flags and input amounts in the Answer Column as per the details in your form.
For 10BB JSON Import :
- Navigate to Import → Select Client Master → Go to Form 10BB → Choose Import 10B/10BB JSON to import a JSON file.

Annexures - Enter Details in Annexure 9:
- Under the inner column, input the following details for : Author(s)/Founder(s), Settlor(s), Trustee(s), Members of Society, Members
- Mandatory
Details to Enter : Name of Person, Relation, ID Code, Unique Identification Number, Flat/Door/Building, Pin Code
- Utility
Data Generation:
- Based on the Pin Code, the system will auto-fill: Locality/Area Name, Post Office Name, City/Town, State, Country Code
- Relationship
Changes: Indicate changes in relationships by selecting Yes/No.
Ensure all
fields are completed correctly before submission.

Step 3: Fill in the Form
- Enter all the required data within the form fields.
- Double-check the information for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure you save the form after completing the entries.
Step 4: Generate the JSON File
- Navigate to Form 10BB → Form 10BB JSON.
- Select the option to Generate JSON for submission.
Step 5: Respond to the Pop-Up Message
- When the system prompts with a Pop-Up message, choose:
- "Yes" for an original form submission.
- "No" for a revised form submission.
Accessing the Report Section
- To view or download the report for Form 10BB, navigate to Form 10BB → Form 10BB Report.
Final Steps: Uploading and Submitting the Audit Report
Upload the JSON File:
- After generating the JSON file, locate the designated upload option in the software.
- Upload the JSON file as prompted.
Submit the Audit Report:
Follow these steps to complete the submission:
- The software automatically selects the location of the generated JSON file.
- Attach Supporting Documents:
- Click on the three dots and select the Balance Sheet attachment.
- Click on the three dots again and select the P&L Report attachment.
- Click the Submit button to upload the audit report to the Income Tax Portal.
Steps to Submit Form 10BB via Software
- Complete the Form: Ensure all necessary fields in Form 10BB and its annexures are filled accurately and completely.
- Locate the Submit Option: Find the Submit button within the software interface.
- Automatic Processing: Upon clicking Submit, the software will automatically process and file the form with the Income Tax Portal.
- Receive Confirmation: After submission, verify that you receive a confirmation message indicating the successful filing of the form on the portal.
