Express ITR provides a Broker Template feature that allows users to import Capital Gain data in a structured and reliable manner. Broker transactions imported through this feature are automatically classified under the relevant income heads, including Capital Gain and Business and Profession Income, wherever applicable.

Step 1: Open the Client Profile
- Log in to the Express ITR application.
- Select the required client from the Client List.
- Navigate to the ITR Summary section.
- Click on Return Flow to proceed with the return workflow.
Step 2: Access the Capital Gain Section
- Click on the Capital Gain tab to open the Capital Gain data entry screen for the selected client.
Step 3: Start the Import Process
- Select the Import CG Statement option.

- The import window will appear, allowing you to upload Capital Gain data.
Step 4: Import Capital Gain Data
Capital Gain data can be imported using one of the following methods:
Method 1: Import via Broker Login
Enter the required details based on the broker:
- Zerodha / Groww – User ID and Password


- Upstox – Registered mobile number

- Angel One – Registered mobile number or Client ID

- Kotak Securities – Upload the broker template file using drag-and-drop

After successful verification, the system will automatically retrieve and import the Capital Gain details.
Method 2: Upload Broker Template File (Preferred Method)
- Browse and upload the predefined Broker Template Excel file.





This template helps ensure:
- Consistent data structure
- Correct transaction classification
- Automatic population of Capital Gain records
Once uploaded, the data will be imported and reflected in the system automatically.
Step 5: Review and Confirm Import
- Click Import after selecting the Broker Template file.


- Confirm the completion message by clicking OK.

The imported transactions will be available under:
- Capital Gain, and

- Business and Profession income heads (where applicable)

This confirms that all broker-related transactions have been accurately captured in Express ITR.
