Computation Module Revamp – Express ITR
The Computation module in Express ITR has been comprehensively revamped to provide a more detailed, simplified, and user-friendly experience for tax professionals. The redesigned module focuses on enhanced presentation, improved analytical capabilities, flexible reporting options, and seamless client communication.
These enhancements enable professionals to efficiently review, customize, export, and share tax computation reports with greater clarity and accuracy.
Key Enhancements
1. Enhanced Personal Information Section
The Personal Information section has been upgraded with additional taxpayer-related details to provide a more comprehensive taxpayer profile. Newly incorporated details include:
- Statutory Audit information
- Authorized Signatory details
- Additional taxpayer disclosures and relevant information
This enhancement provides professionals with a complete overview of taxpayer information from a single screen.
2. Detailed Income Head Presentation
Income heads are now presented in a more structured and detailed format, improving readability, analysis, and client reporting.
Salary Income
Two different viewing formats are now available for better flexibility:
- Consolidated View: Displays a summarized overview of total salary income.
- Employer-wise View: Provides a detailed employer-wise breakup of salary income.
Business & Profession
To improve disclosure and financial analysis, the following enhancements have been introduced:
- Separate disclosure tables for:
- Allowable Expenses
- Disallowable Expenses
- Improved presentation of business income disclosures for better transparency and compliance reporting
Capital Gains
Capital Gain reporting has been significantly enhanced with the following detailed views:
- Holding Asset-wise View: Displays gains based on the category and type of asset held.
- Rate-wise Detailed View: Provides tax calculations according to applicable tax rates for each asset category.
3. Improved Tax Detail Presentation
The Tax Details section has been redesigned to simplify the understanding of tax computations.
Major improvements include:
- Detailed tax liability breakup
- Simplified tax computation flow
- Enhanced readability of tax calculations
- Better presentation of payable and refundable tax details
These improvements help both professionals and clients understand tax computations more effectively.
4. Additional Schedules & Annexures
New schedules and annexures have been introduced to support comprehensive reporting and statutory compliance requirements.
These include:
- Loss Set-off Details
- Section 44AD Disclosure Details
- Schedule PTI (Pass Through Income)
- Financial Particulars and additional financial disclosures
This enhancement ensures more detailed and compliance-oriented reporting.
5. Mini Computation Option
A newly introduced Mini Computation feature enables users to quickly access a summarized computation report.
This feature is particularly useful during:
- Quick client discussions
- Internal reviews
- Preliminary tax analysis
- Instant overview requirements
Users can review key tax details without opening the complete detailed computation report.
6. Report Export & Sharing Enhancements
The computation report can now be conveniently exported and shared through multiple options.
Users can:
- Download Computation Report in PDF Format: Generate a professional and print-ready computation report.
- Download Computation Report in Word Format: Generate an editable report for further customization and documentation purposes.
- Share or Email Computation Directly to Clients: Send the computation report directly to clients from within the application, streamlining communication.
7. Report Customization Settings
A dedicated Settings option has been introduced to provide greater flexibility in report customization.
Using this feature, users can:
- Show or hide specific report details
- Customize report sections based on client requirements
- Control the level of information displayed in the final report
This ensures that only relevant and required information is shared with clients.
Steps to Download Computation Report in PDF & Word Format
Step 1: Access the ITR Summary
- Open the client profile in the application.
- Navigate to the ITR Summary section.
- Click on the Return Flow option to proceed further.
Step 2: Open the Computation Report
- From the available options, select Computation.
The system will display the detailed computation report containing tax calculations, income details, schedules, and annexures for the selected return.
Step 3: Download the Computation Report in PDF Format
- Locate and click on the PDF Icon available within the Computation window.
The computation report will be generated and downloaded in PDF format.
Step 4: Download the Computation Report in Word Format
- Locate and click on the Word Icon available within the Computation window.
The computation report will be generated and downloaded in editable Word format.
Step 5: Share the Computation Report via Email
- Locate and click on the Email option available within the Computation window.
- Enter the client’s Email ID.
- Click on Send Email to directly share the computation report with the client.
This feature simplifies and streamlines client communication directly from the application.
Viewing Annexures & Supporting Details
Users can review all annexures, schedules, disclosures, and supporting computation details directly within the computation report for detailed verification and analysis.
Viewing Mini Computation
Users can also access the Mini Computation option for a summarized computation overview.
To view the Mini Computation:
- Click on the Mini Computation option available within the Computation window.
The system will display a concise summary of the computation report for quick reference and review.
