How to check the connectivity of TDS database from LAN through Administrative tool ?

KDK Software products are Multi-user software products that can be used in the Network area. There might be few situations arising due to some network failure or configurations, where some software modules would respond properly and some would not. One such case is explained below with the TDS module where its error, conditions, and solution has been explained.


To check Manual configuration please follow the steps below - 

Open Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC)

            
            

ODBC Data source administrator is opened here - Click on System DNS.

           

Here, Click on Add Button and select Driver as - SQL SERVER and finish.

           

Create a New Data Source to SQL Server Window Opened. Type Here
Name - kdk
Description - kdk
SERVER : SERVER NAME or SERVER IP Address\INSTANCE NAME of SQL Server

For example - My server IP address is 192.168.0.3
                        Instance installed in server was KDKSQL8

           

Click on Next -
Select Radio Button as - With SQL Server authentication using a login ID and Password entered by the user.

           

Click on Client configuration - Here Select Radio Button as - Named Pipes and then click on OK button.

          

In Login ID : sa
Password : kdk@123456

           

Now click on Next Button.
Here, Click on - Change the Default Database to : SPECTRUM OR TAXSUIT (According to the Software).

           

Now click on Next Button.
Here, Check Mark on - Change the Language of SQL Server system messages to : ENGLISH

           

Now Finish.
Here, ODBC Microsoft SQL Server Setup is opened, Click on Test Data Source...

                       

Message appears - TESTS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY!

Now Run TDS Software on LAN System.
