TDS || E-Filing → 'Certificate number' related error
T-FV-4302 Invalid value provided under field 'Certificate number issued by the Assessing Officer u/s 197 for non-deduction/lower deduction'
T_FV_4324 Certificate number provided for non-deduction or lower deduction is not valid, please enter valid 10 digit cerificate number.
Root Cause of the Error : This error arises when the 'Certificate number' is missing or incorrectly entered in the Lower Deduction Certificate Number field while creating a Deductee entry.
Solution:
Step 1: Identify the Issue
- Navigate to "Open Save Location" in the software.
- Open the generated TEXT file from the designated folder.
- Note the error line number as indicated by the software.
Step 2: Locate the Record
- Search the corresponding record in the TEXT file using the noted error line number.
Step 3: Correct the Entry in the Software
- Access the relevant record in Deductee Transaction.
- Choose the appropriate form (Form 26Q, 27Q, or 27EQ).
- Verify and update the "Certificate number" field for the specific Deductee.
Step 4: Ensure Consistency
- If a "Reason for Deduction" is provided, ensure the "Certificate number" aligns with it.
- If necessary, remove the "Reason for Deduction" entry.
Step 5: Finalize the Changes
- Save the updated record in the software.
- Regenerate the return file.
By adhering to these steps, the issue will be resolved efficiently, ensuring compliance with filing requirements.
