First 2 Digits of this 15 digit alphanumeric number is the state code no given according to Indian Census 2011.
For example: In GSTIN “23AEGPA8565A1ZZ”, first 2 Digits 23 identifies that this GSTIN registered under state code 23 which is assigned to Madhya Pradesh.
