Overview of LAN Settings

A Local Area Network (LAN) setup allows multiple computers to connect using physical cabling or Wi-Fi, enabling seamless sharing of data and files within the network environment.
For PDF Signer, a multi-user software solution, LAN configuration is essential to ensure the application functions efficiently across multiple systems.

LAN Setup Instructions

1. Installation on Client Systems

  1. Both PDF Signer server and client machines are connected to the same network.
  2. The server system is accessible from all client systems (test using the computer name or IP address).

Server Configuration

Sharing the Application Folder
The application directory must be shared from the server system to allow client machines to access centralized files.

Default Installation Paths: C:\Program Files (x86)\K.D.K. Software or C:\Program Files\K.D.K. Software

Steps to Share the Folder:
  1. Right-click on the K.D.K. Software folder → Select Properties
  2. Go to the Sharing tab → Click Advanced Sharing
  3. Enable “Share this folder”
  4. Click Permissions → Grant Full Control to all users → Click Apply and OK
  5. Navigate to the Security tab → Click Edit → Click Add
  6. Type Everyone → Click OK
  7. Assign Full Control permissions → Click Apply and OK
Once completed, the shared folder will be accessible across the network for all authorized users.

Client Configuration

Connecting to the Shared Server Path
Perform the following steps on each client system:
  1. Launch the installed software.
  2. If prompted for registration, click "Register Later" to proceed.

  3. Navigate to the LAN Settings tab.

  4. In the LAN Setting window, enter the network path to the shared server folder. (Example: \\SERVER_NAME\K.D.K. Software\Zen PDF Signer)

  5. Click OK to save the configuration.

  6. Restart the software.
  7. Upon restart, the software will run in Licensed Mode, utilizing the centralized data hosted on the server.

By following the steps outlined above, you can successfully configure PDF Signer for LAN use, enabling multi-user access within your network environment.
