Express ITR || Tax Audit → Invalid Meta Data Error
While filing the Tax-Audit Return (3CA-3CD/3CB-3CD), you might encounter an "Invalid Meta Data Error"
Here are the possible solutions to resolve this error. Please follow the steps below:
Membership Number
Ensure that the Chartered Accountant’s membership number entered in the software (CA Master) matches the ITD login details used for uploading the audit report. Both must be identical on the portal and in the software.
- Log in to the software, navigate to the "Auditor Master" option, and click on ‘Edit’ auditor, which is selected in Form 3CA/3CB.
- Confirm that the Firm Registration Number is exactly 8 digits. If it is shorter, prefix it with zeros.
- The Chartered Accountant's Membership Number should be 6 digits.
- Ensure the Correct CA name is entered in the master.
- Provide the CA's complete address with the correct PIN code and any additional relevant information.
Taxpayer’s PAN
- Verify that the taxpayer’s PAN for whom you are uploading the tax audit matches the PAN associated with the CA login used for uploading. Both should be consistent.
Form Type
- If you have prepared Form 3CB-3CD in the software, ensure that the same Form 3CB-3CD is selected in the CA appointment. Both should be aligned.
- Double-check that the form type selected in the CA login matches the one used for uploading the tax audit.
Assessment Year
- When filing for AY 2024-2025, ensure that the Assessment Year (AY) selected in the CA login matches the AY set in the software. Both should be consistent on the portal and within the software.
Pin Code
- Ensure that the PIN code in the CA Master Address Details, Client Master Address Details, and Point No. 11b of Form 3CD is updated correctly. The PIN code must be accurate in all these and other relevant locations.
Update CA Profile
- Confirm that the CA’s profile details on the ITD portal are accurately updated.
Following these steps should help resolve the issue effectively.
