Income Tax || Demand Status
The Income Tax Department (IT Department) thoroughly reviews income declarations and tax payments to ensure their accuracy. Only once it confirms the alignment of these details will the IT Department accept the tax return filed under Section 143(1). If the taxes paid are found to be insufficient, a demand notice will be issued.
Here are clear steps to check the demand status through software:
- Go to Transaction → Demand Status.
- Click on the Download button.
- This action redirects to the Income Tax Portal. If any demand is shown on the "Response to Outstanding Demand" tab on the ITD website, it will be captured in our software.
I hope this explanation is more helpful.
