Error Encountered During Income Tax Return Filing: The TAN Mentioned in Schedule TDS on Salary Should Match the TAN of the Employer as per Details of Salary:
This is essentially an XML upload error that occurs when the Income Tax Return includes the Salary Income head.
Solution:
The TAN mentioned in Tax details under section 192 should be the same as entered in the Salary Income head: Section 192.
Step 1:
Go to Transaction >> Tax Details And Copy the TAN number:
Step 2:
Go To >> Transaction >> Salary Income >> Enter the Same TAN Number Which is available in Tax details:
Once both sets of details match, generate the XML file again and proceed with the upload.
