Data restoration through .kbu files is specifically designed for retrieving Spectrum data, excluding TDS.
To restore your data, follow the steps outlined below:
Step 1: Locate .kbu Files
- Go to the C Drive > Windows directory.
- Identify files with the extension ".kbu".
Step 2: Prepare Files for Extraction
- Copy the .kbu file to a designated folder for a specific date.
- Change the file extension from .kbu to .zip.
Extract the contents of both .zip files.
Step 4: Access Data Viewer
- Navigate to either of the following paths:
- "C:\Program Files (x86)\K.D.K. Software\KDK Support" or "C:\Program Files\K.D.K. Software\KDK Support"
- Right-click on Data Viewer and choose "Run as administrator".
- Click on the Connect button.
Step 5: Create a Dummy Database
- Click on Database > Create Database...
- Enter a dummy database name (e.g., "dummy") and click OK.
Step 6: Initiate Restore Process
- Select the created dummy database from the left-hand window.
- Navigate to Database > MySQL Restore command.
Step 7: Choose Restore Path
- Select a restore path and browse to the folder created in Step 2.
Step 8: Select and Restore Data
- Choose the first folder and click OK to start the restore process.
Step 9: Repeat Restoration
- Repeat Step 7 and Step 8 to restore data to another dummy folder (e.g., "dummy1").
Step 10: Rename Data Folders
- Navigate to the C Drive > mysql > data folder.
- Rename the "spectrum" folder to "spectrum ddmmyyyy" and "spectrum_bs" folder to "spectrum_bs ddmmyyyy".
Step 11: Finalize Folder Names
- Rename the "dummy" folder to "spectrum" and "dummy1" folder to "spectrum_bs".
After completing these steps, run the software, and your data should be successfully restored for the Spectrum software (excluding TDS).
