Form 27D is the certificate of collection of tax at source under sub-section (5) of section 206C to be furnished by the collector.
Open e-TDS Software:
Launch the e-TDS software and go to "Master" → "Submitted Return" in the menu bar.
Input the Date and 15-digit provisional receipt number (PRN).
Navigate to Traces Activity:
Go to "Online Activity" → "Traces Activity" in the menu bar.
Initiate Form 27D File Request:
Click on "Form 27D Request" and then click OK.
Note: Prior to this, ensure you have selected the correct Assessment Year and Quarter under "Master" → "Change Assessment Year" (F9)and "Quarter."
Select ALL PAN's and Login to Traces:
Choose "Proceed with Default challan selection" and enter your Username and Password to log in to the Traces website.
Two options are available:
All Pan's: Form 27D request for all deductees.
Single Pan Request: Form 27D request for a single deductee.
Traces Website Login:
Input your username and password to log in to the Traces website.
Verification and Login:
The software will automatically redirect you to the Traces website.
Enter the verification code and click on Login.
Automatic Data Entry (if applicable):
If the return is filed through our software, all necessary details for the Form 27D file request will be automatically populated on the Traces site.
Manual Data Entry (if necessary):
In cases where return-filled data is not available in the TDS software, manually input all the required details on the provided page.
Request Number Generation:
Upon completion, a Request Number will be generated.
Navigate to TRACES Activities in Online Activities:
Access the TRACES portal and go to the "Online Activities" section.
Choose "TRACES Activities" from the menu.
Click on "Form 27D File Download":
Within TRACES Activities, locate and click on the option for "Form 27D File Download"
Provide Necessary Information:
An informative message will appear, displaying your Form Name, Assessment Year, and Quarter. Ensure that the correct Assessment Year and Quarter are selected using the F9 button.
Click on the "OK" button to proceed.
Choose Signature Type:
Choose the type of signature you want to use for file generation: Digital Signature (Token) or Manual Signature.
If using a Token, select "Digital Signature (Token)"
If opting for Manual Signature, select "Manual Signature"
Click on the "Next" button.
Enter USER ID and Password:
The system will display your USER ID and Password.
Click on the "Next" button to proceed.
Access Traces Website:
After the page opens, click on "Get All Latest Requests & Update Status" this will auto-redirect to the Traces website.
Click on "Yes" Button.
Update Details:
If the online status shows "Available" double-click on it.
This action will redirect you to the Department Portal.
Download the File:
After the redirect, the status should change to "Generate PDFs..."
Click on the "OPEN Location" to check the appropriate files.
