ExpressITR || Form 10IEA Filing Process
Applicability of Form 10IEA
Form 10IEA is applicable to individuals, HUFs, AOPs (not being cooperative societies), BOIs, or Artificial Juridical Persons with income from business or profession. It allows taxpayers to opt out of the new tax regime and choose the old tax regime for their income tax filing.
Applicable for :
- ITR-3, ITR-4: Individuals and HUFs with business or professional income.
- ITR-5: Cooperative societies only.
Steps to File Form 10IEA
Step 1: Access the Client Profile
- Open the client’s profile in the Express ITR application and navigate to the ITR Summary section.
- Click on the button under Return Flow to open the relevant ITR options.
Step 2: Prepare the ITR
- Enter all income-related information in the relevant sections of the return.
- Once the income details are completed, navigate to the E-Filing section.
- Click on Review and E-Filing to confirm the entered details.
Step 3: File Form 10IEA
- Click on Proceed for E-Filing to begin the filing process.
- The software will automatically:
- File Form 10IEA first to declare opting out of the new tax regime.
- Proceed with filing the ITR.
Important Notes →
- Ensure all business/professional income details are accurately entered before initiating the e-filing process.
- Filing Form 10IEA is mandatory for taxpayers who opt for the old tax regime in the applicable scenarios.
Step 4: Sync Filed Data
Once Form 10IEA is successfully filed on the Income Tax Portal:
- Return to the application dashboard.
- Click the Sync button.
- The filed details will be automatically fetched into the software.
Step 5: Verify Filing Status
The submission status of Form 10IEA will be visible under the E-Filing Details section within the ExpressITR application.
By following the above streamlined process, users can efficiently file Form 10IEA and complete the associated ITR filing through the ExpressITR platform, ensuring compliance and accuracy in tax regime selection.
