Process to Register Deductor on the Reporting Portal for 206AB/206CCA Verification

The Finance Act of 2021 introduced Sections 206AB and 206CCA into the Income-tax Act, 1961, effective from July 1, 2021. These sections impose higher Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) or Tax Collected at Source (TCS) rates on "Specified Persons" as defined within these provisions.
To assist deductors/collectors in verifying a person’s status under these sections, the Income-tax Department has launched the "Compliance Check for Sections 206AB & 206CCA" functionality. This tool is accessible via the Reporting Portal of the Income-tax Department at https://report.insight.gov.in.

This guide outlines the steps for registering a deductor on the Reporting Portal to use this functionality.
