Express Connector Installation & Execution Guide for
macOS
This guide provides detailed step-by-step instructions for
downloading, installing, and executing the Express Connector application
on macOS. Please ensure that all steps are followed carefully to avoid any
installation or execution issues.
Step 1: Download the Express Connector Setup Package
Download the latest Express Connector setup package using
the link provided below:
Post-Download Actions:
Save
the downloaded ZIP file in the Downloads folder of your Mac.
Locate
the downloaded ZIP file and extract its contents.
After
extraction, verify that the file named ExpressConnector2 is
available within the Downloads directory.
Ensure
that the file has been extracted completely before proceeding to the next
step.
Note: The installation and execution commands
provided in this guide assume that the extracted ExpressConnector2 file
is located in the Downloads folder.
Step 2: Open the Terminal Application
The Express Connector application is executed through the
macOS Terminal. Therefore, the Terminal application must be opened before
proceeding with the installation commands.
To Launch Terminal:
Press Command
(⌘) + Spacebar to open Spotlight Search.
Type Terminal in the search bar.
Select Terminal from the search results and press Enter.
The Terminal window will open and be ready to accept
commands.
Step 3: Navigate to the Downloads Directory
Once Terminal is open, navigate to the location where the
Express Connector file has been extracted.
Verify the Current Directory Contents
Run the following command to display the files and folders
available in the current directory:

Step 4: Configure and Execute the Express Connector
macOS applies security restrictions to applications
downloaded from external sources. Therefore, certain permissions must be
granted before the application can be executed successfully.
Run the following commands one by one in the exact
order specified below.
Command 1 – Remove Extended Security Attributes
This command removes macOS quarantine and extended security
attributes associated with the downloaded file.
xattr -cr ExpressConnector2
Command 2 – Grant Execution Permission
This command assigns executable permissions to the Express
Connector file.
chmod +x ExpressConnector2
Command 3 – Launch the Application
This command starts the Express Connector application.
Step 5: Verify Successful Execution
Upon successful execution of the final command:
The Express
Connector application will launch automatically.
The
connector service will initialize and establish the required communication
channels.
The
application will be ready for use with the associated Spectrum Cloud
modules and services.
Important Guidelines
Before Execution
Ensure
that the file has been completely downloaded and extracted.
Verify
that the ExpressConnector2 file is present in the Downloads folder.
Close
any previously running instances of Express Connector before starting a
new session.
During Execution
Execute
all commands in the exact sequence provided.
Do not
modify the file name or file location unless the commands are updated
accordingly.
Keep
the Terminal window open while the Express Connector is running.
If macOS Blocks the Application
In some cases, macOS may prevent execution of applications

If a security warning appears:
Open System
Settings.

to Privacy & Security.

the message indicating that ExpressConnector2 was blocked.
