Excel Import Error → "Tax Rate should 2-3 digit after decimal"
Root Cause of the error →
The error occurs in the Zen TDS Excel import due to an incorrect tax rate format. The tax rate must be specified with exactly two decimal places (e.g., 5.00 or 5.12).
Solution →
- Open the Excel template and navigate to the "Deductee Detail" sheet.
- Locate the column "Rate at which tax deducted (423)".
- Select the relevant cell(s) or range of cells.
- On the Home tab, go to the Number Format drop-down and select Number.
- Right-click the selected cell(s), choose Format Cells…, and then:
- Select Number under the Category section.
- Set Decimal places to 2, as required.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
- Save the file and reattempt the import process in Zen TDS.
Following these steps will ensure compliance with the required tax rate format, preventing import errors.
