Exbace Updating Process

eXBace || Updating Process

XBRL or extensible Business Reporting Language is a software standard that was developed to improve the way in which financial data was communicated, making it easier to compile and share this data. Notably, extensible Business Reporting Language is an implementation of XML (extensible markup language), which is a specification that is used for organizing and defining data online.

KDK Software provides one such software application to convert the Financial report in XBRL format which is eXBace with both Online and Offline functioning.

The changes made by the Department either are any new notifications or changes in taxonomy that are provided either through software release or through updating the software to a new version.

Process to update eXBace Online or SAAS:

The user is not required to do any manual updating if using eXBace SAAS module. The update is directly done on the Server.

Process to Update On-Premises eXBace is as below:

  1. Close the eXBace software.
  2. If you encounter a live update notification upon closing the software, download the update file.

  1. If the pop-up does not appear, allow the pop-up.

  1. Click on "Always Allow pop-ups and redirects" from http://localhost/, then click on Done.

  1. Now Download the file.
  2. Extract the downloaded file.
  3. Right-click on the downloaded executable (exe) file, select "Run as Administrator" and accept to proceed further.

  1. The default location considered for the update is with respect to 64-bit system type.
Note if the Client is using 32-bit system type, user is required to select the path manually using the Browse button.

  1. Click on Extract. Once the Extraction process is completed, reset the IIS using the below command line in the Command window.
Windows → CMD → Run as administrator →  iisreset → Enter.

Now Run the eXBace software using the shortcut.
There might be few circumstances where the user would install the software to some other drive.

To know the location from where the eXBace is running, follow the process below:

  1. Right Click on My PCManage Services and ApplicationsInternet Information Services (IIS) Manager

Click on the PC name appearing on the right-hand side panel:

  1. Then, go to Sites → Default Web Sites → eXBace
  2. On the same panel, there is an option “Advance settings”. The physical path on the advance setting window is the path where the eXBace software is installed.

Hope this helps.
