Root Cause of the Error
The error occurs when the encryption certificate located in the 'Zen TDS\e-TDStcsfvu' folder is outdated.

Solution
To resolve this issue, follow these steps to update the encryption certificate with the latest FVU/RPU files:
  1. Open your web browser and navigate to https://www.protean-tinpan.com/

  1. Click on the "Continue" button on the website.
  2. Go to Downloads → e-TDS/e-TCS → Quarterly Returns → Regular.

  1. Locate the latest FVU Zip files available for download:
    1. FVU for quarterly e-TDS/TCS statements pertaining to FY 2010-11 onwards.
    2. FVU for quarterly e-TDS/TCS statements up to FY 2009-10.

  1. Download both of these files to your computer.
  2. Extract the contents of the downloaded FVU Zip files.

  1. Navigate to the directory where your Zen TDS software is installed:
    1. For 64-bit Systems: C:\Program Files (x86)\K.D.K. Software\Spectrum\Zen TDS\e-TDStcsfvu
    2. For 32-bit Systems: C:\Program Files\K.D.K. Software\Spectrum\Zen TDS\e-TDStcsfvu
  2. Replace the existing files in the 'e-TDStcsfvu' folder with the extracted files from the FVU Zip files.

After replacing the outdated files with the latest versions, restart the software and proceed with E-Filing. This update should resolve the encryption certificate issue.
