Important Information on Deductor Registration and Login
- A TAN can be registered on TRACES only once.
- The deductor must ensure that a Non-Nil statement has already been filed and processed at the time of registration on TRACES. Nil statements are those where BIN/Challan is reported with a "0" amount.
- This e-tutorial provides guidance on correctly filling KYC details during registration, step by step. Enter the Token Number of the Regular (Original) Statement only, corresponding to the Financial Year, Quarter, and Form Type displayed on the screen. Do not copy/paste the data.
- Enter CIN/PAN details pertaining to the Financial Year, Quarter, and Form Type displayed on the screen, based on the latest statement.
- After successful registration and account activation, the deductor will be able to access all functionalities available for deductors, such as: Viewing profile, Downloading forms and reports, Performing online and offline corrections
Note: The deductor needs to activate the account within 48 hours of registration by “Clicking on the Activation link sent on Email”.
- Clicking on the activation link sent to the registered email.
- Entering Activation Code 1 (sent via email) and Activation Code 2 (sent via mobile) on the TRACES portal for successful account activation.
Brief Steps for Deductor Registration/Login on TRACES
Go to TRACES website
www.tdscpc.gov.in, TRACES homepage will appear, Click on
“Continue” to proceed further.
Step 1: Register as a New User
- Click on "Register as New User" and select "Deductor" as the category.
- Enter your TAN in the designated field and provide the verification code to proceed.
Reasons for 'Invalid Details' or 'Your TAN is not available in the TAN Master' Error on TRACES
- You have not filed any statement in the last eight quarters.
- You have filed only Nil Statements.
- The statement you filed has not yet been processed by TRACES.
- The entered TAN is incorrect or invalid.
Step 2: KYC Validation
- Details for Financial Year, Form Type, and Quarter will be auto-populated.
- Enter the Token Number from the Regular (Original) Statement corresponding to the displayed Financial Year, Quarter, and Form Type.
- Enter CIN/PAN details as per the latest statement filed.
- Do not copy/paste the data; enter it manually.
Important Information for Validating KYC on TRACES
- Authentication Code: The authentication code is generated after validating KYC details and remains valid for the same calendar day for the same form type, financial year, and quarter.
- Token Number: Use the Token Number from the Regular Statement based on the Financial Year, Quarter, and Form Type displayed on the screen.
- CIN/BIN Details: Enter CIN/BIN details for the challan or book entry mentioned in the statement corresponding to the specified Financial Year, Quarter, and Form Type.
- Government Deductors: Enter only the Date of Deposit and Transfer Voucher Amount as mentioned in the relevant statement.
- Valid PANs: Enter only valid PAN(s) reported in the TDS/TCS statement corresponding to the CIN/BIN details mentioned in Part 1. A guide is available on the screen for valid combinations.
- PAN and TDS Deposited Amounts: Provide up to three distinct valid PANs and their corresponding TDS deposited amounts. If fewer than three combinations exist in the challan (e.g., one or two), enter all available combinations.
- CD Record Number: The CD Record Number is mandatory if the same challan is mentioned multiple times in the statement.
By ensuring the above information is accurate and complete, the KYC validation process can be completed smoothly.
Step 3: Enter Organization Details
- Provide details such as:
- Category of Deductor
- PAN of Deductor (not mandatory for government deductors)
- PAN and Date of Birth of the Authorized Person
- Choose the Communication Address as per TAN Master or the Last Statement Filed.
- Enter a valid mobile number, alternate mobile number, email ID and alternate email ID.
Step 4: Create User ID and Password
- Set up your User ID and password to proceed.
Note:
- Password must contain a minimum of 8 alphanumeric characters.
- Include at least one uppercase letter in the password.
- While entering Password Special characters allowed: space,Single inverted comma ‘ , &, ", comma, ; (This is not mandatory to use special characters but user can use it to make strong password).
Step 5: Confirm Details
- A confirmation screen will display.
- Review and edit the details if needed, or confirm them to complete the registration process.
Account Activation:
- After registration, you will receive an activation link and activation codes (one via email and one via mobile).
- Activate the account within 48 hours by clicking the link and entering the activation codes on the TRACES portal.
Login to TRACES:
- Once activated, log in to your account on TRACES using your credentials.
By following these steps, you can successfully register your TAN on the TRACES website.
