TDS || Deductor's Master Creation and Edit Deductor's Master Process

The initial phase in software involves setting up foundational elements known as masters, which include entities like Deductor, Deductee, Employee, DDO master, etc.
Now, let's delve into the step-by-step process for creating the Deductor master:


Process 1: Online Import Through Income Tax Login Details:
  1. Open the TDS Software.
  2. Navigate to the "Master" section → Choose "Deductor Information" → Click on "Add New
      
      
  1. Inside the "ITD Login Details" section, input your TAN and Income Tax Login Password.
  2. Click the "Auto Fill" button.
      
  1. This action redirects you to the Income Tax Department (ITD) Portal.
  2. The system fetches the required details directly from the ITD Portal.
  3. The fetched details are automatically populated into your Deductor Master section.
  4. Complete any additional details necessary.
  5. Save the entered information.



Process 2: Import Deductor Master from TXT / Conso Files
  1. Open the TDS Software.
  2. Navigate to the "Master" section → Choose "Deductor Information" → Click on "Add New"
  3. In the "Import Deductor Master from TXT / Conso Files" section, click on the "Browse" button.
      
  1. Select the folder where your Text or TDS files are located.
  2. After selecting the folder, the system will take some time to automatically import all the data in the background.
  3. The completion process is indicated below the folder selection tab.
      
  1. Once the process is completed, a message will appear, confirming: "Processing Finished, File Imported Successfully"
      



Process 3: Manual Creation of Deductor Master

Deductor Details:
  1. Enter a unique Code No. to uniquely identify each Deductor.
  2. Input the Deductor’s Name.
  3. Select the "Type of Deductor" as either "Government" or "Others," specifying the category, such as Company, Individual, etc.
  4. Provide the TAN No. of the Deductor.
  5. Specify the PAN No. of the Deductor.
  6. Include the GST No. of the Deductor.
  7. If applicable, enter the Branch/Division details, such as Patna Branch, Ranchi Branch, Marketing Division, Support Division, etc.
Address Details:
  1. Fill in Flat No./Block No., Building Name, Road Street, Area Locality, Town/City/District.
  2. Specify the PIN Code, State, Country, STD Code, Telephone No., Mobile No., and Email ID.
  3. Indicate the TDS Circle where the TDS return is to be filed or submitted.
For Government Deductor:
  1. Enter DDO Code, DDO Registration No., Ministry Name, Sub-Ministry Name.
  2. Provide PAO Code, AIN Code, and PAO Reg No.
Responsible Person Details:
  1. Choose the Title.
  2. Enter the Responsible Person's Name & PAN (authorized to deduct/collect TDS).
  3. State the Designation (e.g., Manager, Accountant, Officer, etc.) of the responsible person.
  4. Include the Father’s Name of the responsible person.
  5. Specify the Address details of the responsible person.
  6. Enter STD Code, Telephone No., Mobile, and Email Address.
Check if the Address of the Deductor has changed since submitting the last Return.
Enter all the details and then click on the Save button.

Additional Information:

PAO Code:      Mandatory for Central Govt. (A).
Optional for deductor types: State Govt. (S), Statutory body - Central Govt. (D), Statutory body - State Govt. (E), Autonomous body - Central Govt. (G), Autonomous body - State Govt. (H), Local Authority - Central Govt. (L), & Local Authority - State Govt. (N).
If PAO Code is not available, enter "PAOCDNOTAVBL" in the PAO Code Field.

DDO Code:      Mandatory for Central Government (A).
Optional for deductor types: State Government (S), Statutory body - Central Govt. (D), Statutory body - State Govt. (E), Autonomous body - Central Govt. (G), Autonomous body - State Govt. (H), Local Authority - Central Govt. (L), & Local Authority - State Govt. (N).
If DDO Code is not available, enter "DDOCDNOTAVBL" in the DDO Code Field.

PAO Registration No:
Optional for deductor type Central Govt. (A), State Govt. (S), Statutory Body - Central Govt. (D), Statutory Body - State Govt. (E), Autonomous body - Central Govt. (G), Autonomous body - State Govt. (H), Local Authority - Central Govt. (L) & Local Authority - State  Govt. (N).
For other deductor type no value should be provided.

DDO Registration No:
Optional for deductor type Central Govt. (A), State Govt. (S), Statutory Body - Central Govt. (D), Statutory Body - State Govt. (E), Autonomous body - Central Govt. (G), Autonomous body - State Govt. (H), Local Authority - Central Govt. (L) & Local Authority - State  Govt. (N).
For other deductor type no value should be provided.

This comprehensive process ensures that your Deductor master is created accurately by leveraging the online import functionality through Income Tax login details.

Edit Deductor's Master

To edit the Deductor's master data:
  1. Navigate to the "Master" section.
  2. Select "Deductor Information".
  3. Click on the "Edit" button.
      

Once you have accessed the Deductor Information, you will be presented with the master data. Make any necessary edits or modifications, and then ensure to click "Update" to save your changes.

      

After clicking the Update button, a message will appear confirming that the record has been saved successfully: 'Record Saved Successfully.
