Delete Company or Active/Inactive Deductor

ExpressTDS || How to Delete Deductor or Active/Inactive Deductor

Managing Deductor's Status in ExpressTDS: Active and Inactive States

In ExpressTDS, the option to permanently delete a Deductor is not available. Instead, you can manage the Deductor's status by switching them from Active to Inactive as needed. Marking a Deductor as Inactive effectively excludes their profile from any TDS-related transactions or operations. This feature allows you to maintain accurate records without losing historical data, which can be particularly useful if you need to reactivate the Deductor in the future.

Process for Marking a Deductor as Inactive in ExpressTDS

When a Deductor is marked as Inactive, they are prohibited from engaging in any TDS-related transactions, including tax deductions and filing TDS returns. This serves as a useful alternative to permanently deleting a Deductor's profile.

To change a Deductor's status from Active to Inactive, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Access the ExpressTDS portal by entering your username and password. Upon logging in, the Deductor Master page will display, listing all registered Deductors.

Step 2: Identify the Deductor you wish to modify and click the Edit button next to their name.

Step 3: On the Deductor profile page, locate the current status indicated as Active. Click the Active toggle button to change this status.

Step 4: After toggling the status to Inactive, click the Save button to apply your changes.

Once a Deductor is marked as Inactive, they will be categorized under the All tab in the Deductor Master. This process allows for effective management of Deductor profiles while retaining historical data for reference.

Process for Changing a Deductor's Status from Inactive to Active in ExpressTDS

When a Deductor is marked as Active, they regain the ability to conduct all TDS transactions, including tax deductions, filing TDS returns, issuing TDS certificates, and managing TDS data.

To change a Deductor's status from Inactive to Active, follow these steps:

Step 1: Access the ExpressTDS portal by entering your username and password. Once logged in, you will see the Deductor Master page, listing all registered Deductors.

Step 2: Click on the All tab within the Deductor Master to display a list of all Deductors, including those marked as Inactive.
Step 3: Use the search bar to enter either the Deductor's name or their TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number). Press Enter to locate the specific Inactive Deductor.

Step 4: Click the Edit button next to the selected Deductor. This will open the Deductor details page, allowing you to modify their status.
Step 5:  On the Deductor details page, locate the Inactive toggle button. Click this to change the status to Active.

Step 6: After toggling the status, click the Save button to apply your changes.

Once the status has been changed, the Deductor will be listed under the Recent tab in the Deductor Master, allowing them to perform all TDS-related activities.

By following these steps, you can successfully update a Deductor's company profile status between Active and Inactive according to your business requirements. This functionality provides flexible management of Deductor profiles without the need for permanent deletion, ensuring that you can retain historical data while adapting to your current operational needs.
