Process to Carry Forward TDS Amount to the Next Year in Express ITR
Follow these steps to carry forward the unclaimed TDS amount for the next financial year in Express ITR:
Step 1: Access the ITR Summary
- Log in to Express ITR and open the relevant client profile.
- Navigate to the ITR Summary section and click on Return Flow to begin.
Step 2: Navigate to Tax Details
- Under the Income Head, click on the Tax Details option to manage TDS-related data.
Step 3: Import Data from 26AS/AIS
- Use the Import feature to fetch TDS data directly from the 26AS or AIS portals:
- Go to the 26AS/AIS Import section.
- Follow the import process to sync TDS details with Express ITR -- Click Here !
Step 4: Adjust Claimed Amount
- After importing the TDS data, locate the Claimed in Own Hands section within the TDS details.
- Remove the unclaimed TDS amount from this section by editing the entry.
- Once the amount is removed:
- The software will automatically move the unclaimed amount to the TDS Credit Being Carried Forward column.
Step 5: Verify the Carried Forward Amount
- Check the TDS Credit Being Carried Forward column to ensure the amount is correctly reflected.
- Save the changes to ensure the adjustments are recorded.
Key Notes
- Automated Feature: The system automatically calculates the carried forward amount once it's removed from the Claimed in Own Hands section.
- Data Accuracy: Cross-check data with 26AS/AIS to ensure correct TDS details are reflected.
- Next Year's Return: The carried forward amount will appear in the next year’s return under TDS Brought Forward.
