Process to Feed Details of Payments of Advance Tax and Self-Assessment Tax in Express ITR

Here’s a step-by-step guide for entering or verifying the payment details of Advance Tax and Self-Assessment Tax in Express ITR:

Step 1: Log in and Access ITR Summary
  1. Log in to Express ITR using your credentials.
  2. Open the client profile for whom the tax return is being prepared.
  3. Navigate to the ITR Summary section and click on Return Flow to begin.
      
Step 2: Open Tax Details Section
  1. Under the Income Head, locate and select the Tax Details option.
      
  1. This section provides an overview of tax payments and deductions.
Step 3: Access the Annexure
  1. Scroll to the annexure titled Details of Payments of Advance Tax and Self-Assessment Tax.
      
  1. This section allows you to feed or verify payment details.
Step 4: Enter Challan Details
If the Challan details are not imported automatically via the sync process:
  1. Click on Add New Entry.
  2. Enter the following details manually:
    1. BSR Code: The bank branch code of the challan.
    2. Date of Payment: The date the tax was paid.
    3. Challan Serial Number: Unique identifier for the payment.
    4. Amount Paid: The amount of Advance Tax or Self-Assessment Tax.
  3. Click Save to record the entry.
Step 5: Automated Import (Optional)
  1. If the Sync Process has been enabled, Challan details will be fetched automatically from 26AS or AIS.
  2. Verify the auto-imported details for accuracy and edit if discrepancies are noted.
