24Q return validation error regarding "Line Number not in Sequence, it must be in running sequence"

Solution

This error comes when we do not enter detail related to tds return manually and copy it from some other format and other places , In such situation, some gap or space comes in the data and the entire detail not reflect in text file ,. If this happens, then you have to enter detail again in such fields.

Step 1

First of all, you have to verify in which deductee /employee entry this error is, for this you open the text file "click on show output"

Step 2

In this text file, you have to find the line number on which the error is coming. and here you will see that this line must be breaking at one place. From this we get to know that this error which is coming is due to which record

Step 3

Now you have to check this record in the software, as we can see in text file this error is in salary details and Lender detail is not coming correctly in the returns.

Now go into Deductee Detail > Salary Detail feature given in menu bar and select employee record and check lender detail

You have to delete these records (lender name)and type again manually .
